We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions about window film and answered them for your convenience below.
1. Can you buy a full roll of window film?
Buy full rolls of window film online from Solarfrost Window Films. We are pleased to be able to offer some of our top performing window film in full rolls, providing the best film at the best value for money. The measurements of most rolls are 1.5m x 30m, although some films are available in differing sizes.
2. What can I put on my windows so I can see out and nobody can see in?
It is a reflective privacy window film that allows you to see out but not in during the daytime. A reflective window film has the advantage of allowing you to see out of your windows and enjoy the amazing views without darkening your rooms.
3. How do you measure for window film?
Measure only the window's glass area, not the entire window
frame or window opening. Measure the
glass width from left to right in centimetres to then measure the glass height
from bottom to top in centimeteres.
Please add an additional 5cm to each measurement for trimming in the
film.
The standard width for most window films is 152cm. This is considered the professional width for window films.
5. Is window film installed inside or outside?
Window films are typically applied to the inside to protect them from the elements.
6. What does privacy film look like from the outside?
One-way privacy films can appear metallic or mirror-like on the outside of buildings while providing superb one-way vision from the inside.
7. Is window film better than blinds?
Window film lasts longer than blinds because it doesn't deteriorate or weaken over time.
8. Is window film permanent?
Window film is not a permanent solution. Even if you do not attempt to remove it and simply leave it on your windows, it won't last forever. Most films have a life expectancy of roughly 10-20 years, depending on the quality.
9. What type of film reduces heat?
The use of heat reduction film is effective at blocking up to 99 percent of UV radiation and over 80 percent of solar heat.
10. How long does it take for window film to dry?
The standard curing time for window film, under normal conditions and temperature, is 30 days but this can be extended or shortened according to temperatures and climatic conditions.
11. Does window film actually work?
Window film not only preserves the natural light and crystal clear views you are accustomed to, but it also reduces the amount of solar heat that enters through the windows. Window film, whether installed in your house or workplace, will enhance your experience inside any building.
12. Can people see through privacy film?
When there is more light on one side of the glass than the other, the reflecting finish of one way privacy window film creates a one way mirror effect. This implies that during the day, persons on the outside of the window cannot see in through the glass, while people on the inside can see clearly through it. Meanwhile 24 Hour Privacy Window Films typically consist of frosted & opaque films provide complete privacy from both sides.
13. Is window film easy to install?
To install window film, you only need scissors or a knife, a tape measure, a water bottle and a squeegee. It cuts easily and installation is as fairly simple as you spray the material and glass with soapy water and then lay the film on the window. Step by step fitting instructions are provided with all of our orders.
14. How much does window film cost?
Relative to other window coverings such as blinds, window film will save you money because you won't need to hire an interior designer or buy the hardware that standard window treatments require.
15. Where can I install patterned window film?
There are no restrictions on where our patterned window film can be used. Office partitions, residential kitchens and bay windows, shower screens, and front door sidelights are the most popular applications.
16. What is safety glass film?
Clear Safety Glass Films are polyester or PET films that are fitted to glass and glazing to keep it intact if it shatters.
17. What is window film?
Window Film can be installed on both new and old glass windows in your home, workplace, school, or office. Window films are intended to reduce heat, reduce glare, enhance privacy & increase safety and security.
