9. FILM TO GLASS COMPATIBILITY
Before applying window film, make sure that the film you've selected is appropriate for your type of glass. Solarfrost Ltd cannot be held liable for issues caused by the application of an incompatible film or the application of window film to a glass that already has a defect. If you have any questions regarding film to glass compatibility, please call us at 01482 688328 and we will be happy to help.
On site, your glazing should always satisfy the Code of Practice BS6262 Pts 1-7 and BS8000 Glazing Workmanship. Damaged edges and other hidden flaws can be highlighted by the use of window film, and in some instances, this will materialise as a crack emanating from the damaged area. This sort of breakage is not the responsibility of the manufacturer or Solarfrost Ltd.
It's important to understand thermal cracking, but it's also necessary to know that with the right film, it's extremely unlikely to impact your glass.
Other variables that may cause thermal stress include: i) If your glass is subject to partial glazing. ii) You have blinds or curtains that are closely fitted. iii) There are direct heating or cooling vents on your window. Solarfrost Ltd cannot be held liable for any damage caused by installation in these circumstances, so if you have any doubts about the suitability of window film for your windows, please call us directly on 01482 688328.
Please give close attention to the following details. If any of the following apply to your glazing system, please call us at 01482 688328 for guidance or an appropriate film recommendation:

20. ONE-WAY PRIVACY FILMS
When choosing any of our one-way privacy films it is important to understand that these films work on light ratios. These films are optically clear when looking out during daylight hours, but give privacy and a visually pleasing uniform appearance looking in. One-way privacy does usually depend on all windows of an enclosed space being treated. The one-way effect reverses after dark if you have interior lighting on so that you cannot see out as clearly but people can see in, this can also be the case during daylight hours where excessive internal lightning is present. By purchasing any our of one-way privacy films, you are deemed to have read and understand how one-way privacy films work and therefore no claims can be made against Solarfrost Ltd following the purchase of our one-way privacy films.
